| Risk of Lybrel |
It is universally known that every medication has some or the
other side effects, so does the new unique oral contraceptive pill
called Lybrel produced by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
• There are women who really appreciate their monthly menstrual
cycle claiming that it encourages them about their continued
fertility and femaleness and simultaneously reminds them that they
are not pregnant. As per the studies conducted by Wyeth, 50 percent
of the women appreciated their menstrual periods as the significance
that they were not pregnant, but 25 percent disclosed that they
think their periods were a part of natural process of the womanhood.
• The consistent exposure to hormones related with Lybrel has been
the source of distress for several women. Some healthcare providers
indicate that seven additional days of low-dose hormone exposure
every month are not supposed to enhance any risk factors except
those faced by the women who take other contraceptive combination
pills.
• The low doses of hormone in Lybrel may penetrate bleeding or
unwanted spotting.
• The safety of continuous contraception is unknown and is the
greatest concern.
• There is some concern that consistent hormone treatments may
enhance the risk of breast cancer, however, there is no evidence to
back this.
• Lybrel has the same side effects as other hormonal methods.
• Any serious complications does not occur regularly because of
contraceptive use, but the women using combination pill like Lybrel
may have slightly higher chances of some major disorders than
non-users of this pills, that may include chances of developing
blood clots and stroke. |
